Lightly Treading : The Least Likely Elements

( poetry form: pantoum )

skies & snow hills reversal Feb 2016

I will tread this way, the way of offering up what it is that I experience

May or may not be a way that anyone can follow or taste the trace of

Depths of snow remain still in places, whereas bare ground also shows

The dogs and I walk this frozen surface, lithe as cloud jumpers, buoyant

May or may not be a way that anyone can follow or taste the trace of

What we share here is both rarefied and basically elemental, in concert

The dogs and I walk this frozen surface, lithe as cloud jumpers, buoyant

Silently scouting the canopied underbrush, then back to traversing clouds

What we share here is both rarified and basically elemental, in concert

Listening is simultaneously an act of bravery, risk, and companionship

Silently scouting the canopied underbrush, then back to traversing clouds

The least likely elements are embedded deep within this resiliency song

Listening is simultaneously an act of bravery, risk, and companionship

The risk speaks to the radical nature of what can and will be unearthed

The least likely elements are embedded deep within this resiliency song

These rest and wait until the very moment they are needed, called out

The risk speaks to the radical nature of what can and will be unearthed

Claims of solitude and measure, easy to walk outside of rather than in

These rest and wait until the very moment they are needed, called out

The very thing seen can be that which unnerves, estranges or restores

Claims of solitude and measure, easy to walk outside of rather than in

I take these close to heart, learning their ways and wisdoms, whole

The very thing seen can be that which unnerves, estranges or restores

The ways I measure and keep myself, what telling, what spells are these?

I take these close to heart, learning their ways and wisdoms, whole

I will tread this way, the way of offering up what it is that I experience

The ways I measure and keep myself, what telling, what spells are these

Depths of snow remain still in places, whereas bare ground also shows

The Green Tumbling Down

To remake oneself while the house
is crumbling all around you,
That is the finest dream there is:
to take to heart all that is true and real
by the measure which no one owns but you.

I had to climb in from the back side door,
someone else’s entrance, to save what I’d lost.
Even then the pieces no longer made sense,
others’ notions of decorum and amorous play
remained and needed casting out, a wild gesture,
which nearly cost my last ration of aliveness.

How can we take someone else’s word? A word is spoken,
a word uttered, is uniquely its own, cannot be held,
cannot be possessed: only given free rein within.
And yet I seemed to have made a house of words,
too often borrowed and put into service unawares;
no wonder this crumbling, going to pieces.

How to build, when instead those former structures
long to crack and spread under their weights,
the weight, the waiting in time? Let them. Let them.

So, I found myself riding the falling staircase
as it clamored to the ground.
I found myself, capacity clear and centered,
like riding a wave and knowing my own,
landing unscathed, vitrified, transformed.

I found myself abiding in a radiance akin to the sun,
a light burgeoning a peace like none of another’s making.
A peace that could only come with the calming
of the many internal storms, a peace harboring itself,
casting its wonder as lines to the shore,
the shores of partiality for this very heart.

This undoing in the making, the making in the undoing,
is rough business and not for the faint of heart.
Although it is sometimes arrived at out of exhaustion,
a half-heartedness from trying to fulfill another’s destiny,
from trying to fulfill a destiny other than one’s own.

Landing, finally, in my own body, my own corporeal soul,
that word that is the concrete refuge, the heartened wood.
I give the green arising of this vitality free rein, free reign.

note: This poem was written some time ago, back in 2007. Partly due to a conversation about experiencing challenges in my life, the time of letting go and dying that autumn is naturally, as well as ALL the feeling that is so incredibly alive and stirred up at these times with everything occurring at this time, I looked for this poem here and realized I had not ever published it on Contemplative Fire. I wrote it years before I ever dreamed of starting a blog to share my poetry. I share it with you today. Deep blessings to you and thank you so much for reading.

To the many recent followers of my blog… and to all my readers, thank you!

First off, thank you to those who have followed my blog recently. I am so appreciative of all my followers, as some of you have been following this site since 2010! This post is dedicated to all of you. Thank you for coming along on this journey with me. _/|\_

I would like to share that I am mid-stride in upgrading my WordPress site. I am about to embark on steps to enhance and expand how I have been using this site and would love to hear, first, how I might be able to incorporate your input. One example is that with this upgrade, I will be able to post video content for the first time. Would you like to share suggestions as to what would bring you the most benefit, insights, or joy in interacting with and using this site?

I am happy to hear from and/or collaborate with any of you who may be interested to interact with me regarding what upgrades I make. I am also curious if you found yourself here to explore Human Design or my work in Communing With Animals? Are you a poetry and/or photography lover? Maybe you have come to explore my newest work Zero Point Collaborative. All of these are what my blog is now dedicated to.

There are numerous (and hopefully easy) ways you can give your input. You can click through to this post on my site and comment there. You are also welcome to simply email me and if you wish to or if you live in the USA, feel free to text or call me. Click here for my Contact page.

The easiest of all, perhaps, is to click “Like” on this post below, which lets me know you are reading this and wish to encourage me! However you’d like to participate or not, thank you! ❤

Some questions to whet your appetite for offering input:

What would you like to see here that doesn’t seem (yet) to be included?

Do you want to hear more about my services or be given a sample of my services?

How well is the current site working for you? Is it easy or not to navigate?

Would you like video, audio, more photographs, and perhaps less of something else?

Would you like to hear more personal sharing from me?  More frequent blog posts?

Are you interested in information that I can impart about any of my passions?

What input might you like to give that I’ve not yet asked about?

Finally, how can I make it easier to share this blog and its content?

Numbers easier, much less difficult

Sound and frequency, both

Like taking a nap, three dogs lying

Eight colors beyond the norm

Return me to the home that was never exiled

Fortify through threads of a new order, fiber and fabric

Restore the sequence that has no gaps, no intervals

Can we let on to that Being that is?

Put aside all strain along with attempts at castigation

Nine wonders, crying all the way

Only then returning, retuning, purify

Ghostly resonance in C-sharp major

Daughters of inconsolable mind

Still walking upright inside their bones

Wending, wayfaring, heart drenching

We are all here, hear inside these tones

One, two, three and more

I am finding you now, I find you

Even when there is no lost

Filament tracings, cymatic trail

The heart, the denseness of the forest,

Mineral refinement sediment seep

Again, yes again, it is here

Holding so much, all in one place together

Four lines, matters not of anything seen

Ten wishes opening into one

Passionate gesticulation, a thing done

While recognizing freely ordered grace

Leadership as Primal Ground – Part 1 ~ Communing With Animals blog post #2

It’s time for this written exploration, as interactions and conversations about leadership have been coming up in numerous areas and within different connections for me right now. I would like to share about leadership from a very personal perspective about ways that my own leadership has been called out by the animals in my life or the animals that cross my path in any number of ways that they do and will. What do I mean by leadership here? In Part 1, I will start by sharing my perspectives and then get into more directly applicable notes and suggestions in Part 2.

Leadership within the context of culture and humans, where power dynamics and hierarchy are favored, is more often than not the skillful exertion of power for some specific means or end such as control of outcomes or progression along a focused directive or to express one’s outer authority. Leadership within the context of the instinctual life force and vitality we share with animals is a way of being that is primally or instinctually meaningful to both human and animal. This is the kind of leadership I would like to explore with you here in this post. Leadership as reliable, primal ground allows both the human body and the animal body to be supple enough to respond fluidly in any situation without the distortion of reaction or fixation.

As some of you know, I have been called on to step in to a number of peoples’ lives to assist with creating new patterns or ways of relating with animals that allow for harmony where there was once disruption, confusion, or upset related to how an animal was acting or behaving. Assisting in this way is the work I do in Communing With Animals. In nearly all of these situations, it’s become important to look at the kind of leadership that is being engaged in by both human and animal. It may sound odd to say this, but I have found again and again that animals are expressing leadership and offering us leadership even when engaged in a disconcerting or upsetting kind of behavior or action. We are being invited to take their cues and listen in, in a new way, to what is being communicated energetically and via both the primal and subtle bodies.

Leadership, no matter what kind, when expressed consistently and reliably has a way of providing context or structure for life and life force, such as energy, thoughts, direction, or connection. Leadership doesn’t always have a positive or harmonious outcome! We each are expressing leadership whenever we practice or engage any behavior or pattern consistently. Thus, we all have the capacity for leadership and are providing leadership, whether we realize it or not. This realization came to me clearly while working with animals and trying to understand myself more transparently through those connections, as well as through my more unconscious reactions that surfaced around animals. Sometimes I led with frustration. Oh dear me!

I see repeatedly in my connections with animals that I am the one providing leadership around energetic patterns, especially the ones that are ultimately unsettling and out of balance for both me and the animals I’m with. Wow. This has been a big eye opener. I see this happening with my clients, as well. Sometimes fearful interaction is the kind of leadership being provided. Very often, excited relating or interaction is an unconscious kind of leadership or leadership style. Maybe consider for a moment what kinds of leadership you do provide and have provided, not only with yourself and others, but with the animals in your life.

As I reflect back on situations that I have shared with animals that may have felt frustrating, confusing, or even nerve-racking, I see there is a pretty big difference between seeing a pattern as it is and being able to create a new, life enhancing pattern in its place. It’s not always easy to be put directly in touch with my own habits. (So, I want to put in a plug for self-compassion and right timing both, as integral parts of this conversation!) Sometimes my tendencies and preferences are held unconsciously or seem unrelated to what is at hand, so I’ve seen myself fault toward dismissing the importance of my leanings toward less than beneficial ways of relating in the now.

I have worked with this directly and had shifts that have allowed both me and the dogs I’m relating with or working with to drop into a more easeful, relaxed state. This state is closest to the primal restorative state that is truly a birthright for all creatures, whether human, mammal, or other kind of creature. Especially in the most aggravated situations, the kind of approach I describing here is essentially the most fundamental way to address out of balance situations.

I’ll next describe, in Part 2, what working with leadership as reliable primal ground can look like in several specific situations, some of which I have been asked online for some assistance. Since this is a blog post, what I’m sharing here is somewhat theoretical, as this is not a hands on, interactive session. But the upside of that is that others may be able to experiment with applying some of these changes in approach and find the way of leadership to a new calm or ease.

May you be inspired to explore some of what I’m talking about here as it relates to you and the animals in your life. I have found that how I am, how I offer my energy, and then how I relate with animals via that energy, that these modes are the building blocks for harmonious, shared experiences that then, day after day, make up a more continuous or fluid reality.

Stay tuned (or sign up to receive my blog posts directly from WordPress by email) for Part 2! Thanks for reading. I would love to hear your thoughts and comments, as well as any scenarios that came up for you while reading this Part 1 introduction & orientation to leadership as reliable, primal ground.

introducing Zero Point Collaborative

DSCN2062

Zero Point Collaborative is currently an inception, a vision, a knowing at this time and season of Spring 2017, yet it* is calling me to bring it on. Slowly Zero Point Collaborative is showing me where and how it will emerge on the visible or external/physical plane. I am so looking forward to collaborating with you and the zero point field of YOU!

Please do stayed tuned in with me and more will SOON be revealed ❤

[Here on Contemplative Fire, Zero Point Collaborative has it’s own pages and heading and may soon have a site all it’s own. For now, it has the companions of the other aspects of my work & offerings.]

*  what is Zero Point collaborative?
Zero Point Collaborative is many things, as it is not “something” per se, it is  an opener, an activator, a container (without actually being something that contains, as in limits), it is a conscious field of awareness in which, continually or simultaneously whatever might be touched within and as this field returns to its most vital emptiness as the zero point of creation and perception both. It is a place to both begin (or resume) collaborating and to experience what serves the very heart of collaboration itself.

THE LETTERS

There are letters I must write

letters like this one

to the pattern of

the inner reaches

Shift is a multitude

spectral lines, layers be-

coming distinct, distinguished

with and by capacity

I write the letters

that must be sent

that must first be

written by this soul

If you receive a letter

don’t take offense

rather rise to the occasion

find the match within

Something old can be

burned away in the heat

of what comes forward

what lays dormant within

And can now be revealed

as fully revealed as you

are willing to rise to it

–the occasion of Heat

Or leave it

leave it if you must

leave it if you are

too afraid to know

We can look together

we can fully reveal

what has been here

all along –inviolate

What holds you back

what has such power

over you that when

it is clear, you are not?

Try this… remove

whatever garments

you have tended to

favor instead of me

Clinging close to what?

What a rare moment

to make your way with

aplomb and be Queen

This letter is your way

to release, release from

and release to all that

ever called to your soul

And if a letter does not

arrive –fiercely call it out

Endeavor to make haste

that haste will bear you true

Stir The Pot (taste the life)

With each veil, whether opaque or transparent
There you are, such that the phenomenon
Of ‘behind’ a veil takes on a new slant.
You’ve redefined it for me in the juxtapositions
You carry, heavily, awkwardly, and some tenderly.

For ‘behind’ becomes ‘out in front,’ the evening drunkenness
Marries with the sober mess of another day
Creating one breathtaking yet somber step
In the choreography of this life, the life
You have surreptitiously invited me to witness.

Which of these veils lay, in their transparency,
Across your heart? How do you know
Your own heart when that which obscures lends
Its fashioning to nearly every breath you take?
What, in your own private ken, can take your breath away?

Why not let it be so even here, even now.
Regardless of what it could bring, what could
Be said of you, of the other. Melt, like the snows,
That brick of larder sheltered in the walk-in
Of the kitchen of your existence. Taste.

What is here. Taste. Join me in the life that is yours.
Join me in taking in the smells, the fragrances.
Yes, you may suffer immunity from those. Walk
Anew into your own life through my eyes,
Landing there in a freshness that is Timeless.

May these words beckon to you in the way
Your touch has softened something in me,
Even in your withholding. For touch is beyond
Flesh, includes flesh, is the origins of flesh,
Something more than the senses that sees, hears, and listens yet.

I invite you to visit this poem as published on IMUNURI another blog I write poems with others through weekly prompts. This particular poem does not easily translate onto this site, as its ‘writing’ was also a process of cutting away, which you will see when you visit IMUNURI.
